Welcome to my website.
I first started carving in November of 1990 after I had attended a local woodcarving show. I was totally amazed by the carvings I saw there and just felt that this was something that I had to try. I purchased a simple carving knife, a piece of basswood and a book. I carved my first Santa and I have been enjoying woodcarving ever since. I have always had an interest in creating things with my hands. Drawing and painting in oils were activities that I had enjoyed during my youth. But when I finished my first carving I felt like I had found the medium that I really needed to be working with. The feel of the wood in my hands and the quiet whisper of the tool cutting through the wood is very relaxing and soothes my soul.
I do all of the work on my carvings from drawing the pattern on the wood to the final step of painting and finishing. I always take great care to not only carve a piece to the best of my ability but to also apply the best finish. I want each piece to look great and to feel comforting when it is handled.
My work is available for purchase through this website and at the various shows that I attend. If you would like to commission a carving or if you have any questions, please contact me at [email protected] or at (618) 281-4911.
Thank you for visiting.
